Everything about Endoplus
Technical details, composition, and clinical use with clear answers.
ENDOPLUS is an epoxy resin-based root canal sealer manufactured by PRESIDENT DENTAL GmbH in Allershausen, Germany. Supplied as a two-component paste-paste dual syringe, it is designed for the permanent obturation of root canals in combination with obturation points (gutta-percha). The product is suitable for all established and more recent root canal sealing techniques — from single-cone to warm vertical compaction.
Base component: Epoxy oligomer resin, ethylene glycol salicylate, calcium phosphate, bismuth subcarbonate, and zirconium oxide.
Catalyst component: Poly aminobenzoate, triethanolamine, calcium phosphate, bismuth subcarbonate, zirconium oxide, and calcium oxide.
The radiopaque mineral fillers (bismuth subcarbonate and zirconium oxide) ensure excellent radiographic visibility, while the epoxy resin matrix provides a stable, insoluble seal with good biocompatibility.
ENDOPLUS has a working time of 35 minutes at 23 °C (73 °F) — giving clinicians ample time for precise placement and obturation. The setting time is 45 minutes at 37 °C (99 °F, body temperature), which ensures rapid clinical turnaround while allowing complete polymerisation inside the root canal system.
Each ENDOPLUS kit contains a 13.5 g dual syringe (9 g Base + 4.5 g Catalyst), a spatula, and a mixing plate. The product code is PRD.01.10001290. The dual-syringe dispensing system delivers precise 2:1 volume ratio every time, eliminating mixing errors and ensuring a homogeneous paste free of air bubbles.
ENDOPLUS should be stored at temperatures between +18 °C (64 °F) and +24 °C (75 °F), away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Do not refrigerate. The shelf life is 2 years from the production date, clearly marked on every unit. Always replace the syringe cap immediately after use to prevent contamination.
Yes. ENDOPLUS contains bismuth subcarbonate and zirconium oxide as radiopaque fillers in both base and catalyst components, ensuring clear visibility on periapical and panoramic radiographs. This allows for confident verification of obturation quality — including detection of voids, overfills, and lateral canal penetration.
No. ENDOPLUS is formulated to be non-staining to tooth structure — a critical advantage over older sealer formulations that can cause grey or dark discolouration, especially in anterior teeth. The epoxy resin matrix and white/off-white mineral fillers preserve the aesthetics of the treated tooth over time.
ENDOPLUS is compatible with all established and modern root canal sealing techniques, including:
• Single-cone technique with gutta-percha
• Cold lateral compaction
• Warm vertical compaction (Schilder technique)
• Continuous wave of compaction
• Thermoplasticised gutta-percha techniques
Its 35-minute working time at room temperature gives clinicians flexibility across all these protocols.
Yes. ENDOPLUS is insoluble in tissue fluids and has good apical tolerance, making it biocompatible for long-term contact with periapical tissues. The epoxy resin-based formulation has a well-established safety profile in endodontic literature and is commonly used in dental practices worldwide.
